Staring at obvious electoral defeat come November, Amy McGrath’s campaign stooped to attacking the ethnicity of Senator McConnell’s wife and her family.
While attempting to defend their disgusting attacks, the McGrath campaign openly admitted their attack was directed at Elaine Chao and her family:
McGrath Campaign Spokesman: “But the facts are the facts. Millions came to McConnell and his wife in recent years from a company whose business was powered by Chinese trade.”
Not only does the McGrath campaign justify their racist attack, they repeat a “grossly misleading” claim debunked by the Washington Post to do so. By preying on the raw wounds of prejudice, Amy McGrath is following the path of other Kentucky Democrats who have also resorted to this hateful rhetoric.
Fox News: Mitch McConnell claims opponent Amy McGrath’s new ad is ‘racist’ against his wife
“In 2014, a Democratic operative from Northern Kentucky tweeted about McConnell’s wife’s Asian background.
“‘Hey Mitch, nothing against your wife and spouses should be off limits; since you mentioned, She isn’t from KY, she is Asian,’ Kathy Groob, who owned Democratic political consulting firm November Strategies, tweeted.”
