Extreme liberal Amy McGrath will stop at nothing to deceive Kentuckians, just look at how she is misleading people about Senator McConnell’s tireless bipartisan efforts to help all Americans impacted by the coronavirus.
McGrath started out the week by blanketing the airwaves with negative political advertising. These negative ads are the hallmark of her campaign to deceive Kentucky, and they are the last thing Kentuckians need to see on TV during the coronavirus outbreak.
While Team Mitch converted our voter contact program into a meal delivery service for at-risk Kentuckians, McGrath started spreading an absolutely false statement about Senator McConnell’s leadership on delivering coronavirus relief.
Even after the Washington Post issued a correction to its original story, Amy McGrath refuses to stop lying. In fact, she is adding even more false, negative ads. In her latest ad, McGrath lies to Kentuckians about this already-corrected Washington Post story and exploits a national crisis while masquerading as a public service announcement.
Here is what people are saying about Amy McGrath’s failure to tell the truth during a public health crisis:
“Just Flatly Incorrect”
Twitchy: “While Mitch McConnell’s campaign pivots to help constituents, Amy McGrath still hasn’t deleted this 100% false tweet quoting Jen Rubin” (Twitchy, 3/18/2020)
The Courier Journal’s Phillip Bailey: “Saying [McConnell] delayed the vote as @AmyMcGrathKY and others suggest on a #coronavirus bill is just flatly incorrect. Sorry.” (Twitter, 3/18/2020)
The Courier Journal’s Phillip Bailey: “This assertion that [McConnell] delayed something 1. gets into the procedural weeds and 2. isn’t accurate.” (Twitter, 3/18/2020)
Washington Free Beacon: “Amy McGrath, who is running to unseat Sen. Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), criticized McConnell Tuesday using a false attack from a Washington Post opinion writer. […] McGrath has not deleted the tweet that trumpets Rubin’s initial claim” (Washington Free Beacon, 3/18/2020)
Daily Wire: “While his opponent Amy McGrath has been reportedly attacking him in political ads as the coronavirus plagues their constituency, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign suspended its voter contact program in order to query voters if the campaign can provide meals to at-risk constituents.” (Daily Wire, 3/18/2020)
“Amy McGrath’s dishonesty is limitless,” said McConnell Senate Committee campaign manager Kevin Golden. “In the face of a national emergency, McGrath is adding to the confusion through her negative and false attack ads. Even after this narrative was proven false, McGrath recklessly continues promoting 100 percent fake news. Meanwhile, Senator McConnell is leading bipartisan relief efforts, and Team Mitch is reaching out to folks across the commonwealth to bring them the groceries and meals they need during the coronavirus outbreak.
