In Kentucky, 99 percent of our businesses are small businesses, and they employ nearly 700,000 people. These small businesses have been seriously affected by the coronavirus pandemic, and they need urgent relief.
That’s why last month Senator Mitch McConnell led the unanimous passage of the biggest economic rescue package in U.S. history, which included $349 billion in forgivable loans for small businesses to pay their workers and keep the lights on. But this program is running out of money, and our small businesses are in dire need of more help.
Even though the small business relief fund will run dry today, liberal Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are still rejecting Senator McConnell’s legislation to immediately add $250 billion in aid to the small business loan program.
And while people across the Commonwealth worry about how they’ll pay their bills, failed liberal politician Amy McGrath is siding with the very Washington radicals who are delaying immediate small business aid. McGrath does not support Kentuckians in-need — McGrath supports Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s political games.
Small businesses need relief now. Why does Amy McGrath think they can wait?
