In a classic “McGaffe,” Amy McGrath — Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked candidate for U.S. Senate — is running one version of an ad to Kentuckians and another version of the ad to a national liberal cable audience. It is odd enough to see a Kentucky Senate candidate run ads in 49 other states, but why would McGrath change her message for outside of Kentucky?

While watching the news this week, Paducah, Kentucky, residents saw an ad in which McGrath attempts to walk back her long-held support of left-wing health care policies like Medicare for All, even though a wealth of her previous comments prove otherwise.

At the same time over on MSNBC, viewers saw a similar but strikingly different ad. What was missing? McGrath’s blatant attempt to gain support from radical liberals outside of the Commonwealth was made with no mention of her phony resistance to Medicare for All.

McConnell Senate Committee campaign manager Kevin Golden released the following statement on this latest McGaffe:

“Amy McGrath should be ashamed of her latest attempt to dupe Kentuckians while cozying up to Chuck Schumer and his radical liberal allies. Her deliberate choice to air these ads to two different audiences at the same time proves that she will always put the views of her extreme liberal supporters ahead of the views of Kentuckians.”
